'Brassica insularis Moris' is not observed in Poland! Edible plant - young leaves raw or cooked; young flower clusters raw or cooked; seeds raw; young seedpods raw; root raw or cooked, if raw is the best with cottage cheese! Herbal plant - the leaves, seeds and old roots are used in the treatment of asthma and other chest complaints; the juice of the fresh leaves is diuretic and laxative; the seeds are carminative, diuretic, expectorant, laxative and stomachic; the roots are antiscorbutic, antispasmodic, astringent, cholagogue, digestive and diuretic; the whole plant contains raphanin, which is antibacterial and antifungal. Useful plant - the growing plant repels beetles from tomatoes and cucumbers.
