Gołuchów, Park Zamkowy

Native to Alps, beneath tree line. Introduced to Poland in 1739 and widely spread. Ornamental plant. Herbal plant - the flowers, leaves and the galls are antirheumatic, diaphoretic and diuretic, it is used in the treatment of certain forms of arthritis and rheumatism, but can cause diarrhoea and vomiting so should only be used with expert supervision; an extract of a culture of the leaf cells is used as an ingredient in commercial cosmetic preparations as a skin conditioner.
